  1. frontal sinuses — above the eyes, in the frontal bone, which forms the hard part of the forehead
  2. ethmoid sinuses — between the nose and the eyes, in the ethmoid bone
  3. sphenoid sinuses — at the center of the skull base under the pituitary gland, in the sphenoid bone
  4. maxillary sinuses — under the eyes, in the maxillary bones
